Oula's Blog

In second grade we have been doing lots of things. We are working on autobiographies. We are learning about motion. We are on plus three's in mad math. We just had a spelling test. In LMC we are having fairytales for the genre of books for the month. In math we have been learning about doubles and turnaround facts. Miss Seamann taught us an awesome trick for plus nine's. (Thanks Oula!)

Oliver's Blog

In second grade we do stamina and writing. We are writing autobiographies and writing about books. We are doing math. In math we are doing things like counting by 10's and 100's. We learned greater than and less than. We use calculators too. We are learning about landforms and the seven continents in Social Sciences. I like gym and music and art too. I like school.

Homework Information

Hello 2-3 Parents! I just wanted to post a quick blog pertaining to homework, since more homework will start being assigned. We are almost into our fourth week of school!

Fluency Logs are assigned on Monday and due on Fridays.  The reading passage and questions are on one side of the page, the sign-off columns and written response section are on the other side.  Students are expected to read the passage aloud 4 times during the week.  On a 4-day week, the students are only expected the read the passage 3 times and answer the questions.  Please do not worry about filling out the section that asks you to fill in the time it took for your child to read the passage.

Spelling should be practiced each night.  There is no homework to turn in, it is the students' responsibility to practice their list at home throughout the week before the final test on Friday.

Math homework is ALWAYS due the day after it is assigned.
